The first of our sporty and adventurous new Riviera 395 SUVs is rapidly taking shape, on schedule for launch in mid-May ahead of her World Premiere at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show from 24-27 May.

The engineering team is busy installing the Volvo Penta D6 engines, IPS pods and other essential components including the generator, fire extinguisher equipment and fuel filters, that must be installed into the hull before the deck can be joined.

At the same time, the deck has been released from its mould and is undergoing detailing.

The inner and outer components of the hardtop have been built and joined.

The deck and hardtop plugs – with side window frames added – are now being utilised to complete a pre-fitout check of the saloon and helm joinery.

The windscreen GRP component has now been completed and painted.

A large number of small part moulds have been completed and are in the lamination facility where final mould preparation is under way. These include the sunpad backrests, air vent inlets, the cool box under the cockpit lounge, rear bulkhead infills, the lower windscreen, a quarter-panel locker, the two anchor locker hatches, port and starboard dorade boxes, the engine room day hatch and the fish bin hatch for the cockpit floor.

With the first 395 so well advanced, the lamination team has turned its attention to building Hull No 2.

We will continue to keep you informed of the progress of the build on this exciting new motor yacht through the final stage of her creation as she moves toward her World Premiere on 24 May.
