West Oxfordshire Sailing Club, just south of Witney, will host the second event in the 2018 UK Wayfarer Association National Circuit and Travellers Series, sponsored by Craftinsure, this coming weekend.

After a well attended and successful Inland Championships at Datchet Water SC a couple of weeks ago, the open meeting at WOSC, which is shared with the Wanderer Class, will also count as the UKWA Junior Championships.

Several of the hardened travellers will be attending looking to improve their rankings, along with Lilly Gosling, the reigning Junior Champion who will be looking to retain her title.

Junior sailors from other clubs including Haversham and Swarkestone are also planning to compete and give Lilly some stiff competition.

The forecast is for a building southerly breeze with sunshine and showers on Saturday while on Sunday the breeze will clock to the west and 10-17mph.

For more details see wayfarer.org.uk/events/event/west-oxfordshire-sc

Aside from the racing, I can recommend the fish and chip supper and the live band which will persuade several hipster Wayfarer sailors onto the dance floor to shake their thang (if last year was anything to go by!).
