The RYA Women's Match Championships celebrated International Women's Day with the announcement of new title sponsor, Marlow Ropes.

Marlow Ropes has expanded its support of the Royal Yachting Association's racing programmes by announcing its sponsorship of the RYA's National Match Racing Championship.

Marlow, who have enjoyed a successful partnership with the British Sailing Team for 20 years, become the title sponsor of the Marlow Women's Match Racing Championship for the next two years and will be supporting partners of the RYA's ten other National Match Racing Championship events in 2018 and 2019.

Paul Honess, Leisure Marine Sales Director, Marlow Ropes said: "As we celebrate this year's International Women's Day and the achievements of the many inspirational women in sailing that we support, it is a particular pleasure to announce our sponsorship of the RYA Women's Match Racing Championship.

"We are very proud of our long standing and successful relationship with the RYA and have been privileged to rig many British champions over the years. Our new partnership with RYA's National Match Racing Championship will ensure our place among champions continues."

The RYA National Match Racing Series is a sailor's first step towards elite match racing events such as the Women's International Match Racing Series, America's Cup and World Match Race Tour. The leading World and British match racers, Ian Williams, Ben Ainslie, Paul Campbell-James, David Carr, Nick Hutton, Annabel Vose and Lucy MacGregor, began their sailing careers by competing in this series.

Jack Fenwick, RYA Keelboat Manager, said: "We're delighted that Marlow has joined us to partner with the RYA National Match Racing Championship. When providing boats to competitors it is imperative to avoid breakdowns and keep the rapid fire schedule on track. The Marlow brand has an outstanding reputation based on the performance of its products in the world's most competitive and challenging environments. Marlow's support allows us to provide top level equipment and gives me peace of mind that we will get our races in."
