Dragonforce65 Good Friday meeting at Ripon Sailing Club

Ripon Sailing Club welcomed 7 visitors to their now annual Good Friday Dragon Force 65 Open Meeting.

The fleet of 14 yachts enjoyed a Windward Leeward course in a light South Easterly wind, the sky was overcast but the rain stayed away until race 12 was over and it was time to call it a day.

During the course of the day the dominant helm was Dave Darwell (Balne Moor) eagerly chased by Chris More (Balne Moor) with a scattering of Ripon helms chasing hard but struggling to get to grips with their newly-acquired A+ rigs.

Jim Haddock (Ripon SC) showed early form as the best of the home helms.

Once again this was a well behaved fleet with more than a bit of light hearted banter between the helms as the light winds first lifted the leaders briefly only to push them down again as the chasing pack caught up.

The grey light made it difficult to judge mark roundings accurately, catching several helms out as they tried to round the mark too soon.
