This year the annual sailing event "North Sea Regatta" (NSR) will take place again. Starting with the well-known Vuurschepenrace, from Scheveningen to Harwich, and the RORC North Sea Race, back to Scheveningen. Followed by the North Sea Regatta inshore races, off the coast of Scheveningen.

The Vuurschepenrace starts this year on Tuesday evening, May 8, 2018 at 7:00 PM. The return from Harwich, starts on Friday morning 11 May 2018. The first boats are expected to return on Saturday 12 May 2018. The prize-giving ceremony of this beautiful trip will take place on Sunday 13th of May.

After the Vuurschepenrace and the North Sea Race, the North Sea Regatta Inshore races will follow off the coast of Scheveningen. This takes place at Pentecost on Friday 18 May, Saturday 19 May and Sunday 20 May 2018.

This year there are three racecourses planned. Track A for ORC 1, 2 and 3, ORC TwoHanded & IRC 1 and 2, Track B for the sport boats (SB 20, ORC Sportboats, J / 80, J / 22 & Yngling) and track C for the catamarans. The catamarans will compete on Saturday and Sunday. It promises to be spectacular. Around the races there is also a nice program with different social events.

Keep an eye on the North Sea Regatta website www.nsr.nl, for the latest information, the Notice of Race, the Notice Board and for the social events.

Registration for the North Sea Regatta 2018 - the largest sailing event off the Dutch coast - is via the website of the NSR, www.nsr.nl - Manage2Sail. Register immediately if you are in possession of a boat and be sure to have a starting permit!

For general questions you can mail to for specific questions about the competitions .

Admiring the races from the quay or the beach is also possible. The exciting matches will certainly be seen from the coast of Scheveningen. The sailing boats can always use some encouragement from the quay on departure or upon entry. You can also visit the social events without sailing.

The North Sea Regatta is part of the programming of Feest aan Zee, 200 years of seaside resort The Hague, Scheveningen. In 1818 Jacobus Pronk built the first bathing house at Scheveningen. This year the city offers its residents and visitors a variety of ??festivities. The seaside resort will be in the spotlights. The whole city is partying with festivals, exhibitions and performances.

Feel free to come and have a look! See you on the water, the quay or at the beaches.
