The 2018 GUL B14 TT series kicks off this weekend starting with the Inlands at Rutland Sailing Club, and closing out at the Final Fling in Plymouth on 13–14 October. The forecast is for some sun and NW force 2 on Saturday and westerly force 3 on Sunday.

The B14s that went to Beauty Point, Tasmania, for the Worlds returned to the UK last week. So the two top performing UK teams from Tassie (Team Harken and Team GUL/North Sails) will be attending. With many newcomers to the fleet in the last few months, hopefully we'll see some of them attending to get an insight into how to get the best out of their ship and get one-to-one advice and tuning tips.

Saturday night at Rutland will see the prize giving for the 2017 GUL TT series, won by Team GUL/North Sails followed by Team English Braids/Griptec and Team Pinnell&Bax. Sunday's start line could be an interesting affair if hangovers come to the fore.

2018 is looking to be a good year as the fleet build up to the Europeans and Worlds in Carnac in July 2019, with new B14s hitting the water mid season. The series includes the Classic B14, which is all pre-Ovington hulls no matter what configuration of rig or racks. Their results will be extracted from the overall standings and additional prize(s) awarded.

We'll see you there on Saturday morning.
