The annual Open Frensham Frenzy takes place this year on Sunday 11 March 2018. Spring will have sprung, the 'beast from the east' will have slunk home, snow and ice will have melted and the breeze will be up (fingers crossed!).
An ideal season opener, the Frenzy comprises two pursuit races, for monohulls under 16ft hull length and with Portsmouth Numbers between 940 and 1435 (broadly RS400 to Cadet)
Starts for slowest boats will at 10:30 and 13:30, with a break ashore for lunch. Race duration is based on 75 minutes for an Enterprise (PY 1116)
Courses will use up to 8 of the club's marks, providing a range of beats and downwind angles. Launching is straight-forward - no wet feet required, regardless of wind direction. Competition is invariably hot, which, combined with Frensham's famously challenging conditions guarantees great racing; it's truly never over until it's over on the Pond.
Entries numbers are limited to 50 - to book you places simply email then complete your entry form on the day.
Formal Notice of Race and SIs can be found on sailfrensham.org.uk
