Today at the RYA Dinghy Show, David Ward from Braintree, Essex was announced as the winner of the RYA Dinghy Show Suzuki Safety Boat competition, winning a brand new Suzuki powered safety boat and trailer for his club.

David who is a member of Stone Sailing Club in Essex said: "I couldn't believe it when I had a call explaining I had been selected as the winner after buying a ticket to the Dinghy Show! I was speechless, it was really nice news. I couldn't wait to call my club and let them know."

David's win means that Stone Sailing Club will receive a Rigiflex Newmatic 360 powered by a Suzuki DF9.9AS engine with a EXT500 Super Roller from Extreme Trailers. He was joined by his fellow club members who were keen to celebrate his win.

"David is the newest member of our club and he's won us a fantastic prize! We were actually looking into buying a new safety boat as ours is coming towards the end of its life," explains Commodore David Boosey. "This model is going to be perfect for our training and the club in general," he concludes.

Clare Donnelly, Marketing Co-coordinator for Suzuki GB's Marine Division said, "We're delighted to have worked with Rigiflex boats and Extreme Trailers to have been able to offer this prize. As title sponsors of the Show we want to give something back and give sailing clubs the opportunity to access to the one of the best boat packages on the market. Our way of saying thank you."

The Rigiflex Newmatic 360 powered by a Suzuki DF9.9AS outboard is one of three safety boat packages developed by Suzuki in partnership with Ribcraft and Rigiflex, to a specification agreed by the RYA to offer clubs standard packages that will cater for the prime needs of most clubs and training centres.

Alongside the inland/inshore Rigiflex, there is also a 4.8m inshore RIB and a 5.85m coastal RIB so that there is a safety boat package to suit most club locations.
