Your chance to meet Zhik's Volvo Ocean Race heroes

Zhik is proud of the two Volvo Ocean Race teams for which they're official gear suppliers to, team AkzoNobel and Dongfeng Race Team.

Team AkzoNobel just won Leg 6, arriving in Auckland Wednesday morning at 12.17am, closely followed by Scallywag, a short two minutes behind them. It was an incredibly close bunch with the first five teams arriving in under 30 minutes of each other!

Dongfeng Race Team came in 4th position, which still leaves them at second place on the overall leaderboard, battling it out for first place with Mapfre!

Unsung Kiwi heroes

Whilst most of NZ media is focused on our two brilliant Americas Cup sailors, we can't forget the other unsung Kiwi sailors aboard all of these boats. Some of which are Kerikeri locals Brad Farrand and Justin Ferris on team AkzoNobel, who were understandably pretty chuffed to be the first home! Dongfeng have Stu Bannatyne and Daryl Wislang, who combined have 10 Volvo Ocean Race challenges under their belts!

Your chance to meet the impressive Volvo sailors!

We are creating an awesome opportunity to for you to meet some of these sailing heroes at a crew signing event, hopefully on Sat 10th March. Stay tuned for details which will be confirmed next week.
