At RS HQ we are gearing up for the RYA Dinghy Show – a sure-fire blinder of a weekend that we absolutely love! Considering an RS for 2018?
Come and see us in our usual spot (Stand B70-74) at the Dinghy Show this weekend 3-4 March. We will have the stand filled with boats from the RS range, with our team on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Our Team
Steve Wilson and George Purchon (mug shots below) will be on hand to run through our show packages – only available at the show. Should you be looking to upgrade or start out with RS and have a boat ready for the start of the season the very helpful and very knowledgeable Sales Team are on hand to help. We also have a healthy stock of used boats available across our range.
2018 is promising to be a great year for all involved with RS Sailing as the Games are coming! Throughout August, down at WPNSA you will find the most spectacular sailing showcase that will be worth the wait. At 5pm on Saturday, the official launch party is happening - come along, grab a drink and soak up the atmosphere with the RS family. Whichever boat you are sailing, this is shaping up to be a record-breaking event! The off water programme is as packed as the racing schedule so this will truly be an event for all of the family.
Pre Dinghy Show Spotlight – RS Aero
The Dinghy Show is the only show in the world where we can showcase our entire range, and welcome the Class Associations to be on hand to talk to.
With over 1500 RS Aero's sold worldwide, of which over 600 of those are in the UK, Pete Barton gave us some useful RS Aero stats to get you singlehanded sailors excited.
There are six premier RS Aero events Worldwide this year:
- RS Aero Worlds, August
- RS Aero UK Nationals, May
- RS Aero North American Championships (Galveston, TX), May
- RS Aero Australian Nationals (Melbourne), April
- Lake Maggiorre International RS Aero regatta, Italy/Switzerland), June
- RS Aerocup, La Baule France, September

The RS Aero continues to spread across the World map and we have a new 'most southerly' recently at Cape Horn, Chile!
Over three years the number of well-supported events has continued to grow - I reported on nearly 100 last year!
There are now annual circuits of events in Southern UK, Northern UK, UK Winter, Florida, Texas, New England, West Coast USA, Germany, Holland.
RS are providing 25 charters for the Weymouth Worlds, and charters are available at all main events.
Looking ahead we have our 3rd Worlds set for the Columbia Gorge USA in June 2019 and the 4th Worlds at Port Stephens Australia six months later.
Following Ken's epic voyage to Scotland last year we have a Norwegian looking to sail and camp in an RS Aero the length of Norway!
