The famous French skipper challenges you tomorrow onwards on board his favourite trimaran, Happy, formerly Mike Birch's Olympus, on a demanding course between Yarmouth (USA, Maine) and Saint-Malo (France). An exceptional gift will be drawn between all the virtual sailors who manage to beat him!
Have you ever dreamed of racing against one of the biggest stars in sailing? Tomorrow, you have the opportunity to challenge Loïck Peyron on equal terms on Virtual Regatta, as part of the "Challenge the Champions" project.
The sailor from La Baule will be at the (virtual) helm of his favourite sailing boat, Mike Birch's famous yellow trimaran Olympus, winner of the first edition of the Route du Rhum, renamed Happy by Loïck. The race will start this Wednesday at 12:00 GMT (1:00pm CET) in Yarmouth, Maine (USA), where the boat was built in 1977. The virtual route, estimated to last 15 days, will take the competitors to Saint-Malo, from where Loïck Peyron - the winner from the last edition - will start the Route du Rhum this autumn.
The registration fee for the race is € 25.00; it gives access to all Virtual Regatta options (pro sails, automatic pilot etc.) An exceptional gift will be drawn between the competitors who have managed to beat Peyron on the finish line: a visit in his company to the pontoons of the Route du Rhum and a private visit of his dear Happy! Transport and hosting supported by Virtual Regatta.
