A look back at 2017
We had another incredible year here at RS in 2017, we wanted to take this opportunity to share some of our highlights and to thank you for your continued support.
Launch of the RS ZEST and RS CAT14
It’s was a busy year for our technical team here at RS, we launched two new boats last year the RS Zest and the RS CAT14.
RS Zest: Brand new compact boat that delivers more crew space and practical, enjoyable features than older generation rivals. The RS Zest is already a hit with training centres and families. Class leading space for two sailors, yet small enough for convenient single-handing. Instructors will love the practical design solutions engineered by our team. Rotomoulded polyethylene construction makes the RS Zest almost maintenance free – this is a boat to get you onto the water and into the wonderful world of sailing – no hassle – no end to the fun.
RS CAT14: This boat takes the enjoyment and handling associated with beach cats to a new level. Stiffness and balance defy the cost-effective durability of the RS CAT14’s construction – making the boat perfect, not only for training and recreational sailing, but also as a true performance pathway class. We’re excited – and we think you will be too! The design protected system for joining the beams to RS CAT hulls gives increased stiffness compared to other rotomoulded catamarans, with the added bonus of allowing the boat to be disassembled quickly for storage or transport. Durability - convenience - excitement – the hallmarks of the RS CATs.
Activities in 2017:• We received over 400 pre-orders for the RS Zest with a huge proportion of that coming from the UK Sea Cadets. • The RS Zest was awarded ‘Best Daysailer’ at Sail Magazine’s 2018 Best Boats Awards. • RS CAT14 was launched at the Paris Boat Show back in early December with it’s teaser video being viewed over 60,000 times, watch the video hereFor more information about the RS Zest click here or for more information about the RS CAT 14 click here.

Events in 2018It’s time to start planning your racing season and the calendar is jam packed next year with lots of awesome events for you to come and be a part of. RS Games: 4th-25th August 2018
One of the world’s biggest ever dinghy racing events will burst into life in Weymouth and Portland when the RS Games 2018 kicks off next August.1000 boats and 1500 competitors from around 30 nations are expected to make the RS Games a huge festival of everything that’s great about small boat sailing. The PA Consulting RS Feva Worlds are being held for the first time in the USA at Clearwater, Florida. It's dubbed to be the event of the year by event organisers Clearwater Community Sailing Centre. Carnac Yacht Club are inviting the RS100, RS200, RS400, RS500, RS700 classes to take part in the 2018 Eurocup. With fantastic hospitality on shore and great racing in the bay this is not an event to be missed. Check out rssailing.org for further details. Aerocup: 28th-1st Sept/Oct 2018
The 4th edition of this of the RS Aero Annual International Regatta is now confirmed for La Baule, France! Check out rsaerosailing.org for more information. RS Tera Eurocup: 17th-19th August 2018 The newly energised RS Tera class will be re-introducing a Eurocup series, with 4 events, including the RS Tera Worlds. For more information about these events check out rstera.org.
