Bough Beech Sailing Club Icicle Open Series Preview

Bough Beech Sailing Club is looking forward to welcoming visitors to its major open handicap event of the year: the Icicle. This race series for monohull dinghies usually attracts around 100 entries, and will consist of sixteen races over eight Sundays between 7 January and 25 February 2018 (wind permitting).

Races will be run on the "average lap" format and organised in two classes, one for asymmetrics and one for the rest. Depending on how many races are sailed, a number of discards will be allowed.

The overall class winners this year were only decided on the final day's racing and went to two visiting Wilsonian boats. We will be hoping for more close racing this year with maybe a Bough Beech winner or two.
