Platu25 World Championship at Velaclub Palermo - Overall

by Platu 25 Class 30 Oct 2017 18:23 GMT 25-30 September 2017

The team on Euz II Villa Schinosa have won the Platu25 World Championship that took place in Mondello (Italy). Today it wasn't possible to race because of lack of wind, so Francesco Lanera's team won.

"We cared so much about the Worlds.", said Lanera. "In the last World Championship in Swizerland, we didn't have the whole crew and we didn't race as well as we hoped. There were six Olympians who brought a lot of experience and they made the difference."

Five For Fighting 3 finished in second place. The owner Tommaso De Bellis said, "We are satisfied. There was really a high level and we had a great week."

Third position went to the local team on Brera Hotels with a wide gap over Jahplin 007, another local crew. In fifth place were the Australians on Easy Tiger. In total 35 boats races over five days and ten races. Palermo Sport won the Under 25 title, beating Irritante and Liberalamente La Fabbrica della Ceramica. Ladybug won the Women's title.
