The Raymarine stand (S2 307) is the place to see the latest in marine electronics at the London Boat Show, which takes place at ExCel from 6th – 15th January 2006.
From stand-alone products to top-of-the-range integrated navigation systems, Raymarine designs and supplies technically advanced, easy to use and reliable equipment for every type of user, from fishermen to divers, powerboaters and RIB owners, weekend yachtsmen to circumnavigators.
2006 sees the launch of the new A65 HD Digital™ dual function display - chartplotter, digital fishfinder or both together. Part of the successful A Series, the new A65 HD Digital™ dual function display has a 6.5 inch (1650 mm) full colour display and comes complete with the new RS12 GPS antenna. It provides detailed chart plotting using Navionics XL3 Gold charts, and when connected to Raymarine’s new DSM25 HD Digital™ echo-sounder module, shows detailed fish and bottom images. Users can choose from single screen or split screen display, enabling them to see both chart and fishfinding or bottom data at the same time. Built to withstand the elements (IPX7 – submersible to 1 metre for at least 30 minutes, suitable for external mounting), the HD Digital™ dual function display can be trunnion-mounted or flush-mounted and is ideal for boat owners who want the latest technology but are limited for space aboard.
Also new is the launch of RayTech V6, the latest version of Raymarine’s navigation software suite. RayTech V6 is a powerful PC based system that offers a multitude of useful features from in-built worldwide tide and current database, to animated weather forecasts, performance analysis, and route planning.
RayTech V6 uses Raymarine SeaTalk to integrate with on board equipment, including Raymarine’s E series with Navionics Platinum cartography. This new V6 enables even quicker and easier waypoint and route transfers from home to the boat, using Compact Flash cards.
With crew and vessel security a key issue for many boat owners and users, Raymarine has introduced a day-and-night-vision marine video camera. The CAM100 plugs into the E series and H6 navigation systems, enabling single or multiple cameras to be located on board. These can be positioned in unmanned areas, such as the engine room, or in blind spots to make mooring and manoeuvring easier. The CAM100 features a highly sensitive Infra Red (IR) sensor, which automatically switches the camera from daylight colour to night time black and white images, providing clear images for up to 15 metres, even in total darkness.
Autopilots and Raymarine go hand in hand and, this year, the company is launching a specific SmartPilot for Verado outboard engines. This complete autopilot system features leading edge technology, including Advanced Steering Technology, and AutoLearn software, that ‘learns’ the handling characteristics of the boat for easier handling. The SmartPilot is wireless enabled, so users can choose wireless operation using Raymarine’s S100 remote control unit.
The new ST60+, an update of the highly successful ST60 instrument range, will be on display with a new stylish design, enhanced screens and upgraded performance. The ST60+ comprises eight instrument heads that use SeaTalk to share and display data including wind, speed, depth, compass, rudder angle and closehauled wind angles. Finally, Raymarine’s autopilot control heads have also been upgraded to complement the new ST60+ styling.
