George Hand joins Team Allen

by Jeremy Nicholson, Allen Brothers 28 Nov 2016 08:30 GMT 28 November 2016

24 year old skiff racer George Hand will be joining Team Allen and using the British Manufacturer's hardware as well as competing under the team banner in the J70 class. So far in his career he has seven National Championships under his belt and numerous podium finishes.

In 2017, George will be competing in the Musto Skiff class, in which he finished 2nd in 2016, while taking the 18 Foot Skiff title. His aim is to win the Musto Skiff World Championships in 2017, but he will also be competing in J70s.

"I am really excited to be joining Team Allen", he explained, "I have already identified areas on the boat where I believe we can improve our performance with more specialized equipment. As the leading UK designer and manufacturer of performance sailing hardware, Allen Brothers is uniquely positioned to help me."

Allen MD Liz Adams added, "skiff racing is exciting and very competitive. Success depends on everything and everyone on the boat working together. More and more we are seeing competitive sailors like George want an equipment supplier who understands what they need and has the resources to make it happen. We are very pleased to welcome him to Team Allen and I am sure his winning ways will continue."

Allen Brothers celebrated 60 years of high quality British design and manufacture this year. The company is based in Essex and prides itself on being run by sailors for sailors. To find out more about Team Allen, go to www.allensail.com
