The weather may be getting colder but there'll be a warm welcome for hardy racers at Ullswater Yacht Club with the start of the traditional November series on Sunday, October 30.
Despite an 'official' end to the season with the Autumn Nip handicap event on Sunday, October 25, keen members and visitors have another five weeks of racing in the Sunday-only November series. All are welcome to join members in two friendly informal handicap races every Sunday - tea and cakes after the racing make up for the winter chill.
There'll be two races a day every Sunday from October 30 to November 27 with an 11am start. The fee for visitors is £25 single-handers, £35 double-handers - free to club members - 10 races, 6 to count. Details can be found on the UYC website under 'Events', 'Entry Forms and NOR'.
A total of 20 boats took part in the two-race Autumn Nip event at UYC in fresh Northerly winds on Sunday with the winners Lester Noble and John McAfee in a 49er.
