It was a beautiful sunny Autumnal day with gentle breezes that greeted competitors and supporters alike for the Scottish Multiclass Regatta. It was the culmination of the first Hansa Scottish TT Series and the first Scottish Champions would be decided.

Racing started with the 303 two person class followed 5 minutes later by the 303 one person class. The gentle breeze faded and came again needing some thoughtful sailing tactics. 2 races before a tasty buffet lunch were followed by 2 more after lunch and the race team provided the best course they could to suit the conditions.

Castle Semple TT Results:

303 two person class
1st Rory McKinna (CCC dinghy Section Bardowie)
2nd Phil Reoch (Castle Semple)
3rd Craig Holland (Castle Semple)

303 one person class

2nd Darren Mc Gregor and Jamie Kearns (Able to sail)
3rd Frank McGhee and Shannon McGhee (Able to sail)
4th Stuart Caudwell and Marty McNally (Castle Semple)

Prizes for the day were presented by David Hill.

Perpetual Trophies of Galloway Glass Vases donated and presented by Moira Campbell, Hansa Rep, and were presented to Rory and David to be returned next year. They and the buddies were also presented with china mugs decorated with witty Scottish words to keep. Stephen was unable to attend due to recovering at home from surgery but he will be presented with his trophy this week.

Everyone agreed that this first year had been enjoyable and wanted the Traveller Series to continue next year. Thanks go to the 3 venues: Galloway Activity Centre, Clydemuirshiel Country Park [Castle Semple] and Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section, Bardowie for their hard work and hospitality. Hopefully we will travel further, adding one more venue in Scotland and attending competitions 'Down South'.
