Laser Wessex Grand Prix at Frampton on Severn Sailing Club

The last race meeting in the Wessex area Laser Grand Prix attracted 30 entries to Frampton on Severn Sailing Club on Sunday 2nd October. Competition was tight in a 2-4 knot breeze with four races -- three to count.

The first race saw FOSSC's Stephen Jones hanging on to the shirt tail of John Ling closely followed by Nigel Kay and Adam John. Race 2 Stephen found form and managed to over haul Adam John who had stormed off the line into a very commanding lead right up to the last lap. Stephen went on to a 2-1 in the next two races. John Ling slipped to third but followed on with a 1-3.

However, the star of the day was Jenny Dando, National Topper Youth Squad member, taking a off day of in a borrowed Laser. By race two Jenny had made the Topper - Laser transition, moving up for a 6,4,3 - resulting in a third over Adam John on discard.
