Every club has them, hanging around on and off the water and lurking in dark corners. We're talking about young sailors, as well as Enterprises – so why not get them together for the 2016 Noble Youth (Under 21) Championship.
This two day event takes place at Barnt Green Sailing Club and starts on Saturday 3rd September with a briefing at 11am followed by three races, with the final two races on Sunday 4th September. Barnt Green SC is located in the Midlands, and offers the ideal setting for this event, with easy race viewing from the shore, as well as overnight camping and evening entertainment for the sailors and their supporters.
This popular event sees many of the regular youth crews in the class getting in the back of the boat to show how it should be done, and there are a heap of trophies and prizes available for the helms and crews. If you're Under 15 helm or crew, Under 18 Helm or Under 21 Helm there could be a trophy waiting for your name to be engraved on it. With so many Enterprises sailed at clubs all over the country, there's also a club team prize up for grabs for the top club with the best combined score. There's a prize for the first Old Boat (sail number under 21000) and a Lady Helm Trophy.
The Noble Youth Championship is a great event to get new young sailors engaged with this friendly fleet, with many of the regular over 25 year old sailors coming along for a relaxing weekend watching and supporting their club juniors.
