Royal Victoria Yacht Club (RVYC) invites you and your family to try sailing as part of RYA Push the Boat Out Saturday 21st of May 2016.
RYA Push the Boat Out is a nationwide event that will see hundreds of sailing clubs and centres across the country opening their gates for local people to come and have a go at sailing and windsurfing.
Whether you're completely new to the sport, looking to get back on the water or sail regularly, Royal Victoria Yacht Club will be one of the many sailing clubs and centres across the country taking part in RYA Push the Boat Out. The event will see hundreds of people taking part in the sport at club open days or taster sessions.
Starting at 10am, on Saturday 21st May at RVYC, there will be an opportunity to go sailing on a variety of boats and have a good look around the club house. Our event is totally free whether you just pop in to have a look or go for a sail on the Solent. We are all very friendly and happy to help get you sailing. Once a member, the club offers adult sailing on a Wednesday night through the summer and cadet training for children aged 8-18 on a Friday night. We also race every Sunday and join together with other Island sailing clubs for events. Come down and see for yourself!
Commodore Tony Pope said: "We are delighted to be taking part in the RYA Push the Boat Out. We are inviting the local community to come down to the club, have a go at sailing and see what the club has to offer and get involved. Who knows, if you visit you might just get hooked!"
RYA Sport Development Manager Duncan Truswell said, "Push the Boat Out provides the perfect opportunity for you to discover your local sailing venue, like-minded people, have a go at the sport and find out how much fun it is."
