Harken have donated a great range of exciting prizes for the Glyn Charles Pursuit Race at Hayling Island Sailing Club on Monday 2nd May.
The Glyn Charles Pursuit Race is about fun, fundraising and remembering Glyn, one of Great Britain's best young sailors, tragically lost in the 1998 Sydney Hobart race.
The event raises funds for the John Merrick's Sailing Trust (JMST). John, a great friend of Glyn's and a fellow member of the 1996 British Olympic team, died in a car accident in 1997.
Harken are sponsoring the JMST at the Glyn Charles Pursuit Race by offering an abundant assortment of prizes designed to heat up the competition amongst competitors. The work the John Merrick's Sailing Trust carries out is invaluable and supporting grassroots sailing is extremely important, making this an event Harken are delighted to be a part of.
Every penny raised goes towards supporting youth sailing at a grass roots level in the UK.
The Glyn Charles Pursuit Race is one of the largest races in Chichester Harbour; this race is about having fun. It is a true "celebration of life", and there is a vast haul of prizes to celebrate taking part.
This event is open to all monohull dinghies and small racing keelboats with a PY below 1432.
Hayling Island Sailing Club offers accommodation, breakfast until 11 am, lunch, dinner and the bar is open all day!
