Enter the Selden Merlin Rocket Nationals for chance to win an HD Jib

Following a great start to the season with strong turn outs at the Silver Tiller traveller series events, including Hamble, Salcombe, Chichester and Banbury, the association is preparing for this year's Championship at Penzance Sailing Club, 13th-19th August.

To reward early entry, HD Sails have generously donated a brand new jib, with the winner being drawn at random from all entries received by the 15th May.

HD Sails have been consistently at the front of the Merlin Rocket fleet ever since the sail loft began. GP14 World Championship winning crew and one half of HD Sails, Andy Davis, is a regular face in the fleet. Davis is a previous Merlin Rocket Nationals, Salcombe Week and Silver Tiller winner and has developed the HD Merlin Rocket sails to be an off-the-shelf winning package. Davis says; 'We strive not only to make the fastest sails but focus on consistency, quality and having the best and friendliest customer service around. Our jib has been optimised to work in an array of conditions and is very user friendly.'

The lucky winner will not only receive a free jib but Andy Davis will help you to set it up and get going.

There is HALF PRICE entry for:

  • Youth sailors (helms aged 25 and under)
  • Older Merlins (sail number 3600 and older)
  • First time helms who have never competed before at our Nationals (as helm or crew)
A boat and crew matching service is available. If you don't have a Merlin Rocket but would like to compete, as either helm or crew, please contact the organisers, a number of boats have already been offered for charter/loan and a crew pairing service is in place.

Andy Harris and Lyra Wade take Sondown Cup and Elizabeth Bowl Sunday May 18th was the Thames Series Merlin Rocket Open sponsored by Craftinsure for all ages of boat competing for the Sondown Cup (for the overall result) and the Elizabeth Bowl (for the first vintage boat in the last race).
