Eight Lasers on their way to Sri Lanka

Following a request from the Yachting Association of Sri Lanka to source 8 Laser Radials of mid-range value to help establish a coaching programme in Sri Lanka, 2ndhanddinghies have spent the last 5 months scouring UK sailing clubs for suitable boats.
Using their contacts, expertise, workshop facilities and organisational abilities, they procured 8 good value Lasers. 2ndhanddinghies were then able to undertake the loading of these boats into a 20ft container at their Emsworth base. This involved building a wooden frame in the container to be able to stack the boats in 2 columns of 4 boats. It was tight but we did manage to close the door! The container left for Colombo, Sri Lanka on January 2nd. With a shipping time of 32 days the boats could well be sailing in very warm waters by mid-February.
