Cadet Nationals at Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy day 4

One hundred and six Cadets are at Weymouth this week for the Cadet National Championships.

Racing began on Sunday with two races sailed in a good 20 knot breeze. 'Fantasy' Ben Cornish/Samuel Matson won the first race from 'Blue Moon' Kate Allam/Katie Barr and 'Challenger' Will Rusden/Katherine Kinver. The second race saw 'Mostly Harmless' Stephen Videlo/James Jopling take the bullet from 'Y-Knot' Stephen Tiernan/Hugo Pullen and 'Harum Scarum' James Rusden/Philip Sparks.

Monday saw bright sunshine and the race officer waiting for the sea breeze. Both races were won by Ben Cornish with James Rusden second and 'Hot Rocks' Katherine Kimber/Stevie Green third in the first race and Stephen Videlo second and 'Cyclone' Thomas/Emily Kinver third in the second race.

Tuesday again saw a wait for the sea breeze. Thomas Kinver winning from Kate Allam and 'Teen Spirit' Aaron Cooper/Jack Wilson in the first race. The second race was won by Stephen Videlo from Kate Allam and Will Rusden.

Wednesday saw only one race sailed with the afternoon devoted to a crews race an ex cadet race and a parents race. The race was won by 'Im a bullet Too' Joshua Pistol/Jamie Proffitt from 'No Fear' Chris Proffitt/Alex Coulton and third 'White Stuff' Ben/Hannah Muskett.

With two days and three races to go Kate Allam leads from Stephen VIdelo, Ben Cornish, Will Rusden and Joshua Pistol.
