Allen Brothers Sets Up US Operation

Allen Brothers, the UK Manufacturer of performance sailing hardware (formerly the manufacturing arm of Holt Allen, until 2008), is now supplying direct to the U.S. wholesale market for the first time.
Allen Brothers former distribution partner Bainbridge International made strong advances into supplying the U.S. market. However, in such a competitive market place, Allen Brothers felt the requirement to go direct to market.
"Previously we have always sold through distributors," explained Managing Director Liz Adams. "However, the circumstances seemed right to do things differently this time and retain greater control."
Inventory is currently in stock in Connecticut, from where orders will be fulfilled and shipped. The remainder of the order processing will be handled by Allen Brothers directly.
This new arrangement sees Allen appointing U.S. Sales Agent, Rec Marine Sales, LLC. which also represent RS Sailing, Nacra Catamarans, and Alpha Ropes for the North American market. Owner Todd Riccardi, has substantial marine industry and competitive sailing experience.
Having sailed most of his life, Todd competed mostly in dinghies through college sailing. Since, he has been primarily racing F18 catamarans and is currently the U.S. Class Chairman, he has had numerous top finishes at regattas throughout the world.
"The initial reaction has been great," added Todd. "We have already generated some significant orders from top retailers on both coasts and I am concentrating on communicating Allen's message of quality and performance to the trade."
