ABOUT
From the initiative of some of the world's best sailors, the Star Sailors League (SSL), launched an international circuit of regattas in January 2013. This new league has been built on the existing circuit of over 220 International Star regattas around the world, using a unified world ranking, created based on the ATP World TourTM, established by tennis players in 1972. Drawing on this inspiration from tennis, the SSL also awards substantial prize money to the best-ranked sailors.

Eleven Star Sailor teams will decide the Star Sailors League Lake Grand Slam on Lake Neuchatel tomorrow. Principle Race Officer, Sharon Bourke, called off racing at 16:00 (ECT). A fickle southerly breeze failed to establish itself and it was decided to call the qualification rounds to a halt.

The Final of the SSL Lake Grand Slam will take place tomorrow, Saturday 12th September, with three knock-out stages before the four remaining teams progress to the final. All of the rounds tomorrow are one race – knock outs.

The eleven finalists:

1 - Mark Mendelblatt - Brian Fatih 25 pts.
2 - Torben Grael - Guilherme De Almeida 33 pts.
3 - Augie Diaz - Arnis Baltins 34 pts.
4 - Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic - Josh Revkin 40 pts.
5 - George Szabo - Patrick Ducommun 44 pts.
6 - Robert Stanjek - Frithjof Kleen 47 pts.
7 - Xavier Rohart - Stefano Lillia 50 pts.
8 - Jean-Baptiste Bernaz - Pascal Rambeau 53 pts.
9 - Mateusz Kusnierewicz - Dominik Zycki 54 pts.
10 - Johannes Polgar - Markus Koy 73 pts.
11 - Jorge Zarif - Bruno Prada 74 pts.

Mark Mendelblatt & Brian Fatih won the qualifying stages and will get a bye for the quarter finals. The top six teams in the ten-boat Quarter-Final will progress to the Semi-Final to be joined by Mendelblatt & Fatih. The top four teams from then go through to the final.

All the action is freely available on the internet and continues tomorrow with quarter finals scheduled to start at 09:30 (ECT). With expert commentary from special studio guests. On the water, the latest in hi-tech camera technology, as well as Virtual Eye 3D Graphics, will provide thrilling viewing. Watch the live footage on the YachtsandYachting.com homepage.
