Volvo Youth National Championships in Canada - Overall

The final day of racing at the Sail Canada Youth National Championships at CORK International saw classic Kingston sailing conditions of sun and wind!

All sailors were launched and racing at the scheduled time of 11:00 am in a west-southwest breeze of 12 – 14 knots. As the day progressed the thermal kicked in with winds increasing to 17-19 knots for the final races of the day. The racing was close in many fleets!

In the Radial Gold fleet Francisco Guaragna (ARG), Finnian Alexander (NZL), Alastair Gifford (AUS), Matti Muru (ON), Tim Adair (NZL) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the Laser Standard fleet Forrest Wachholz (ON), Braden Garvey (ON), Benjamin Rizika (USA), Conrad Vandlik (USA), Jack Bruce finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the Laser 4.7 fleet Henryk Luczynski, Johnny Walton (USA), Benjamin Derbyshire (BAH), Livia Collinson (ON), Andrew Lemley (USA) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the 420 Gold fleet Pat Wilson and Arie Moffat (ON), Terra Lanteigne and Lewin-LaFrance (NS), Gray Snyder and Porter (ON), David Sapp and Qu (NS), Annie Dysart and Timmons (NB) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the 29er fleet Eric Lyall and Andrew Moreno (BC), Cameron Shaw and Henry Lockyer (ON/NS), Freja Frykman and Astrid Frykman (BC), Michael Lynch and Aleks Vagners (ON), Louis Riel-Brockie and Sam Bonin (ON) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the RS:X 9.5 fleet Ignacio Berenguer (MEX), Gabriel Verrier Paquette (CAN), Raul Lopez (USA), Jean-Sebastien Fugere (CAN), Max Robinson (CAN) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the RS:X 8.5 fleet Juan Varela (MEX), Mack Van den Eerenbeemt (ARU), Nicole Level (MEX), Cristina Ortiz Vivas (MEX), Maximo Nores (USA) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

In the Techno 293 Geronimo Nores (USA), Mariana Aguilar (MEX), Anthony Swaelens (CAN), Tyler McKay (CAN), Dominique Stater (CAN) finished in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively.

The Sail Canada Senior National Championships at CORK OCR is up next! Racing begins Saturday, August 15th at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour.
