Magic Marine is unveiled as the title sponsor for the Magic Marine 2015 Optimist European Championships in Pwllheli in July!

The sailing clothing, accessories and equipment specialists are onboard for next month's event, where 256 sailors from 37 nations will take part in the first ever Optimist Europeans to be held on British waters in the Championship's 32-year history, and only the second time on UK waters since Belfast in 1993.

Magic Marine has a proud association with the international Optimist class, including its annual backing of the hugely popular Easter Regatta at Lake Braassemermeer near its Netherlands headquarters.

The Magic Marine 2015 Optimist European Championships will begin on Friday 17 July, with a total of five days of racing before the prizes are presented on Thursday 23 July. The event is also set to be the first hosted by the new Plas Heli Welsh National Sailing Academy at Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club.

"The Optimist is the class where most Olympians began their sailing career. Magic Marine's focus is to design products to help all sailors enjoy and focus on their racing and this starts by promoting the youth," commented Brand Manager, Carrie Howe. "Specifically for the Optimist are the boat covers, bags, straps and then all the gear from head to toe including rash vests, neoprene boots, buoyancy aids, long johns, caps, etc."

Jacquie Hughes Jones, Event Sponsorship Manager, added: "One of the main reasons the Europeans hit it off with Magic Marine at the outset was the desire to project a youthful, pan-European, fun image, like that in Braassemermeer.

"The Europeans is about serious racing but just as important is the sailors and their supporters enjoy the event and take happy memories away from their time in Pwllheli. This partnership with Magic Marine will go a long way in helping us to make sure that happens, and we're delighted to be working with them."

Magic Marine will be onsite at Plas Heli for the whole week, getting involved from their chill out area and shop, as well as daily prize giveaways for best photo of the day - look out for the daily topic and results on the Magic Marine UK and event social media pages! Magic Marine are also offering entrants the chance to buy special edition Europeans hoodies as part of their event support.

Magic Marine join Harken, Olimpic Sails, Volvo Car UK, Winner Optimist and Pwllheli-based company Jones O Gymru crisps as official Optimist European Championships 2015 event partners.

The Optimist junior sailing class is widely regarded as the breeding ground for future international sailing success with four-time Olympic champion and America's Cup winner, Sir Ben Ainslie, a former Optimist sailor. Over 90% of sailors at London 2012 raced Optimists as juniors, including TeamGB medalists Hannah Mills, Saskia Clark, Iain Percy, Andrew Simpson and Luke Patience.
