Seven boats (two visitors and five club boats) raced at Royal Windermere Yacht Club using windward-leeward courses.

After bacon butties the fleet launched into a shifty north easterly. The morning race was four long laps with Al Dixon showing us the way round, doing a horizon job and catching the Phantom fleet up, which started 5 minutes before!

Behind, John Richardson was so excited at being in second place that he missed the spreader mark and had to drop the kite and sail back into the middle of the fleet. which then enjoyed a close race. Second place went to Robert Richardson; John third, Greg Booth fourth.

After lunch the race officer promised to shorten the course; three laps but the beat felt the same length! Al won again but the fleet kept up this time. Greg second, John third then Robert Just beating James Nield on the Finish line.

The last race was down to two laps. Al continued his winning ways. John was second. Greg decided he wasn't going to be beaten by a fourteen year old and came in third to claim third overall.

Results:

1st Al Dixon
2nd John Richardson
3rd Greg Booth
4th Robert Richardson
5th James Nield
6th Gavin Benbow
7th Pat McVey
