Ogston Sailing Club saw 27 Enterprises register for the 2015 Noble Marine Masters' Championships in association with Allen Brothers.

With Saturday seemingly being the windiest day, sailors took to the water for the first race, unfortunately conditions sought too much for some and numbers dropped slightly after a few capsizes.

Race 1 saw many capsizes, lots of swimming and some risky gybes however Mark Lunn and Steve Blackburn pulled through to get the first bullet of the day with John Blundell and Steve Graham, Alan Johnson and Paula Fisher coming in second and third. Race 2 started and again the conditions seemed testing to many but they battled through and more swimming took place, some amazing sailing was seen by supporters and they were all really impressed. Coming in 3rd was Jon Woodward and Karen Alexander, second was Tim Sadler and Richard Sault, and another bullet went to Mark and Stevie B. Race 3 and 4 saw fewer sailors take to the water, but continuing to work hard as the wind strengths stayed up. The sailors battled on and in both races the Speed Machine won yet again, with Tim & Saulty behind and AJ & Paula in third. 4 races over and done with, the sailors got all togged up in shirt and tie and enjoyed a lovely evening filled with a 2 course meal and plenty of wine flowing.

Sunday morning wind conditions had seemed to calm slightly but yet it was shiftier. All sailors took to the water to compete in the last 3 races which were all to be back to back.

Race 5 saw Jon & Karen taking lead with John & Stevie G not far behind in second and Ann Jackson and Alan Skeens in third. Race 6 Jane Scutt won the battle with her crew Nick Scutt, followed by Paul Young and Megan Ward who sailed fantastically and reached the windward mark first. Third place was Tim & Saulty.

Now the racing was extremely close for the overall title with the leading boats not having the cleanest days racing and Mark & Steve picking up an OCS in the first race of the day. An interesting finale would take place.

Race 7 John & Steve Graham blasted to the front and Nick Jackson and Clio Scutt followed getting a second. Ann Jackson and Alan Skeens gained a 3rd to their results.

Overall Mark Lunn and Steve Blackburn in Speed Machine took the Noble Marine / Allen Brothers Masters 2015 by one point from Tim & Saulty! Close racing! Congratulations to Mark and Steve – Steve later thanked the association and of course Ogston for hosting the event and the friendly welcome. The top 3 boats all receiving generous gift vouchers from Allen Brothers. A big thank you to our sponsors also who provided some fantastic prizes and support. Now onwards and upwards to the Nationals at Looe. Hope to see some of you there.
