Frensham Pond Sailing club welcome all-comers on their Open Day on Saturday, May 9th. Frensham is not really pond but an eighty acre stretch of water on the Surrey Hampshire border.
If you are a racing dinghy sailor you will find a very friendly club with regular class racing in designs up to 16 foot.
Frensham is very safe, but has tricky with shifting winds. This has made the Pond to be called "The nursery of champions". Its youth training has produced an Olympic helm plus World, European and national champions. Youngsters sail in Oppies, Cadets and RS Teras in a wholly safe environment both afloat and ashore.
For anyone with a disability. The club has a large Sailability section with numerous club Hansa design dinghies and 2.4 keelboats.
All are welcome to come along and view the club, enjoy the BBQ and see the model yacht section as well. Weather permitting families and children can enjoy a taster sail with fully qualified instructors.
Frensham Sailing Club lies on the West of the A287 between Hindhead and Farnham down the well-named Pond Lane.
