YHYSA at Beaver Sailing Club

by Chris Cooper 19 Apr 2015 21:55 BST 18 April 2015

The first of the spring/summer events in the 2015 Yorkshire and Humberside Youth Sailing Association series took place at Beaver Sailing Club on Saturday 18th April. 17 boats took to the water for some competitive sailing in a steady breeze, which gradually built throughout the day.

With a strong Laser contingent, some of whom were just back from competing at the Youth National Championships, it was great to see some excellent racing, with the spectators enjoying the spring sunshine.

Local Beaver sailors dominated the top 4 places of the leader board with Ollie Groves taking the honours in his Laser Standard with bullets in races 1 & 2. Rachel Grayson and Sam Waller recovered from boat failure in the 1st race to take 2nd place in their RS200 and Chris White came in 3rd, also in a Laser Standard.
