From it's humble beginnings in 1974 P&B have grown from a dedicated sail loft to now being able to provide all your sailing services under one roof including buying new boats, sails, covers, repairs, spars & rigging, chandlery and clothing.
Size is no barrier here at P&B and with a history of working with boats from 7'7" Optimists to 37ft Bavaria's P&B will simply repair, make sails, covers and produce custom rigging for anything that can fit on to our premises. This can-do attitude has meant that we have worked on a huge range of interesting projects in recent years from an Eastport Pram (flat pack rowing/sail kit boat) re-finish to a Swan 65 spinnaker pole repair (ready for the 2012 across the Atlantic Arc Race).
Just like our sail loft and workshop we cater for every sailor in our shop as well. Working closely with some of the leading marine brands we are able to provide rope, hardware and clothing for yachters and dinghy sailors. Each week one of the P&B team will be looking into their kit bag and giving us an item that they simply wouldn't sail without!
P&B's Steve Graham travelled the short distance to Middle Nene SC to take part in the Nimbus Series & Midlands Double Chine Area Champs in his Enterprise. This weeks 'Kit of the Week' of the Allen Aerovane Wind Indicator is more a choice out of necessity due to Steve losing his original wind indicator in the howling Sunday winds. I will leave the exact reason as to how it "got lost" down to your imagination but I'm sure there's a reasonable if muddy explanation...

Workshop Assistant
P&B have been going for 25 years and during this time have built up a reputation as being the market leader across many classes. The staff include many National European and World champions.
The UK’s ONLY true one stop sailing shop is now looking for someone to join this hugely experienced team in our workshop rigging and repairs department, based at our headquarters in Northampton.
Job Description:
- Assist with finishing gel coat repairs
- Sanding and preparing finishes for keels and hulls
- Polishing gel coat surfaces
- Replacing laminates to damaged areas
- Assist in new boat fit outs
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Experience handling power tools in a work environment
- Proficient in the use of hand tools
- Have an understanding of glass/foam construction
Full training will also be provided.
A knowledge/experience of sailing would be hugely advantageous within this role and as part of the P&B team you will receive excellent in-house benefits which includes trade prices on all shop products and annual membership to Northampton Sailing Club.
