Lightnings all set for 2015

by Lee Bratley 20 Feb 2015 12:54 GMT 20 February 2015

With the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show almost upon us, we can all look forward to the 'unofficial' start of the new season, so here's an early 'fair winds' to all for 2015 from the Lightning368 class - no matter what you sail.

After another great year in '14, the Lightnings have a fantastic new race calender lined up for 2015 and are set to venture further far and wide than ever with some brand-new venues featuring on the Grand Prix Series this coming year.

Events at Ullswater YC, Snettisham and Hunts are début venues for the Lightnings and form part of the eleven event series between April and November.

With the class Nationals at Northampton and the likes of 'The Lord Birkett Trophy' and 'North West Norfolk Week' on the calender as 'just for fun' events, it's going to be a busy year for the Lightning helms, but certainly another year of competitive, friendly sailing.

We're on stand F28 at the show this year, so come on down and say hi as we toast the start of a new season and the Lightning368 2015 Grand Prix Series ahead.

Lightning 368 Grand Prix Series 2015:

  • 18th/19th April - Up River YC
  • 6th June - Manor Park SC
  • 27th/28th June - Ullswater YC (Northern Champs)
  • 18th July - Cookham Reach (Southern Champs)
  • 1st/2nd August - Snettisham Beach (Sea Champs)
  • 22nd August - Oxford SC
  • 5th/6th September - Northampton SC (Nationals)
  • 3rd October - Hunts SC
  • 10th October - Whitefriars (Noble Marine Inland Champs)
  • 24th October - Broxbourne
  • 14th November - West Oxford SC
In addition, we have both The Lord Birkett Trophy Race at Ullswater SC (4th/5th July) and 'North West Norfolk Week' (1st-8th August) in place on the calender as 'Bucket-List' events.
