GAC Pindar Team Australia returns home

by Oman Sail 9 Dec 2014 07:09 GMT 11-14 December 2014

Skipper Nathan Wilmot and his GAC Pindar team, sailing under the Team Australia flag, will return home for the final leg of the Extreme Sailing Series looking to finish with a flourish in front of the home crowds of Sydney Harbour.

After a season that has seen GAC Pindar improve throughout, competing for the podium spots in many races and achieving their highest finish of the season so far in the penultimate Act in Nice (6th place), they are confident of another strong showing in Sydney.

With Matt Mitchell joining the team for Act 8, GAC Pindar will compete in Sydney with an incredibly talented, well decorated crew that will be doing everything in their power to give the home crowd what they want.

Skipper Nathan Wilmot, whose home yacht club is in Sydney Harbour said: "We really can't wait to get out there and put on a show for the people of Sydney. We've been doing really well in the past few Acts so we're looking to bring that form in with us and really push for a place on the podium come Sunday 14th. The boys are all so excited to sail in the iconic Harbour – it's the perfect end to a great series for us."

GAC Pindar Team Principal Andrew Pindar commented: "It's going to a great weekend for the guys, returning home for the final leg. We've made great strides this year and are confident that with the backing of the home crowd we can end the series on a high. This year will certainly provide us with a strong platform to build on as we look ahead to the 2015 season".
