Dag Von Appen' Itau made a remarkable performance in the Expo Naval races of today, arriving first in the two races.

Today the Soto 40 completed two windward - leeward courses after three hours of delay due the lack of wind. The first race started at 3.30 pm with a 8 knot wind at 245º. All the boats stayed together until the last leg, when Itau took the leadership and managed to cross the finish line in the first position, followed by Santander, Mitsubishi, Apolonia and Pisco Black in that order respectively.

The second race had a 9 knots wind stablished at 240º. In the first leg the boats split up and Santander and Mitsubishi turn right while Apolonia, Pisco Black and Itau took the left. It was a hard-fought race until the last leg when Itaú once again took the first position after the windward buoy. This time Mitsubishi arrived second followed by Santander, Pisco Black and Apolonia.

The competition will end tomorrow with at least two more windward - leeward races at Club de Yates de Higuerillas. First warning signal is scheduled at 12.30 pm.

Last but not least we want to stand in solidarity with the Vestas Wind Team and the hard time they are going through right now.
