A nice 17 knots with gusts greeted 17 Flying Fifteens at Parkstone today. A harbour tour course was set which gave a great sail but resulted in the top boats finishing in the same position that they rounded the first weather mark.
First around was Simon Spolton who promptly broke his main halyard, He was followed by Bob Alexander and Huw Willets who went on to win by a country mile. 3rd around was Crispin Reed Wilson who promptly broke his boom. Then came Patrick Keats and Chris Jermyn followed by David Tabb and Chewey Sherrell. The improver of the day was Peter Allum sailing with his daughter who improved throughout the race to finish a close 4th.
Yet again racing was close all through the fleet. We even saw some keels today (no names, no pack drill)!
