This was the final event of The Enterprise Association Severnside Area Series for the Dragon trophy sponsored by Allen Brothers.
Tata Steel had to change the date of this event due to weed in the lake. Together, with the poor weather forecast, this limited the number of Enterprise entrants.
Race officer Bob Taylor set a course with a windward leeward element followed by a triangle. The wind was moderate and gusty at the first start. The Enterprises started with the Ospreys.
Paul Young and crew Phil Harrison (Midland SC) leading from start to finish fending off an early challenge from Chris Palmer and Peter Rendall (Penarth YC) who held on to take second from Richard Leach and Jane Pickford (PYC).
Race 2 followed a similar pattern Paul and Phil leading the way not bothered by the battle behind. Richard and Jane eventually leaving Chris and Pete to take the second spot.
Race 3 after lunch started in much lighter winds, the Ents decided the pin end was favoured and Richard hit it, a quick 360 later they were playing catch up and by the second lap they were in the leadU unfortunately, they then started to go to the wrong mark letting Paul and Phil were sailing well and fast and eventually passed Richard on the final beat. The wind increased towards the end and they planed away to a third victory. Richard and Jane won the PYC battle for second.
