Open Fireball Slovenian Championships - Preview

by Cormac Bradley 11 Oct 2014 20:51 BST 17-19 October 2014

If the prospect of a mid-October three day regatta in a warm climate is something that interests you, then why not consider getting yourself to Portoroz in Slovenia, host to the Fireball Europeans and Worlds in September 2013. For those who went to that regatta, you will recall great sunshine, warm water and great value food in this coastal location.

The Open Fireball Slovenian Championships are taking place there next weekend in tandem with Flying Juniors and Musto Skiffs with a nine race programme for the Fireballs. Racing commences on the Friday at 12:00 and the scheduled starts for the Saturday and Sunday are 11:00. No races will start after 15:00 on the Sunday.

Late entry fees apply after 10th October and are set at €100.00. In addition to the racing programme, there is a Social Programme set out involving pasta after sailing, a dinner and party for all participants and a prize-giving ceremony on the Sunday.

As with last year's international events, the organisers are Go Sailing & Sport Club Piran in association with Fireball Slovenia, Yacht Club Portoroz, Sailing Club Pocodebon and the Slovenian Sailing Federation.

Principle contact is with Go Sailing, email .
