11 Bosuns raced at Greenwich Yacht Club on Sunday 3rd July 2005 for the first of an annual open event organized by Erith and Greenwich Yacht Clubs. The event will alternate betweeen the clubs and the 2006 race will be at Erith, all Bosuns are welcome.

The competitors completed two back-to-back races in light winds, with a triangular course that was reversed for the second race, thus taking advantage of the tidal Thames.

Race 1 was dominated by Bosun 2099 (Greenwich YC) -leaving the rest of the pack behind by several minutes. Otherwise the racing was very close with Richard Banner and Shane Butcher from Erith YC taking second place.

Race 2 saw a few crews over the line which gave George and Sarah Mees (Erith YC) the lead, Bosun 3, chased them relentlessly to the finish.

There was some friendly shouting between all crews and a lively prizegiving afterwards. The results were based on aggregate times of both races.
