Hard fought win for Spanish team
With 2 races left in the Snipe European Championship, there were 5 teams that could claim the title on the last day. Sailing the most consistent final races were Raul de Valenzuela and Antolin Alejandre de Ona (ESP) with a 3-1 to claim the title for a second time. It should be noted that crew Ona earned the Jr. European champion skipper just the week prior in the same waters.
Brazilians Alexandre Tinoco and Bernardo Low-Beer finished second overall in a tie with Portuguese sailors Tiago Morais and Tomas Pires de Lima who are third in the tie breaker. Manu Hens & Enrico Michel (BEL) could not recover enough from their disastrous first few days that included a DNF and 2 OCS', despite sailing a 6-1-1-2-3 in the final days.
Congratulations to Valenzuela and Ona for the 2014 Snipe European title.
