505 UK National Championships at Felixstowe Ferry - Day 1

This year sees the return of the 505 fleet to Felixstowe Ferry SC, a club with a long history entwined with the fleet.
The day before the start of the national saw a huge amount of 505 legends come together for a lunch and catch-up.
Day 1 started with 15 knots, big waves and fantastic sunshine. Leading the fleet of were Andy Smith and Tim Needham from Mike Holt and Rob Woelfe, with Ian Pinnell and Daniel Cripps in third.
Race 2 started after a brief hiccup where the gate boat had technical issues. The breeze was building and the boat were flying down wind as only 505s can. The top 3 finishers were the same and in the same order.
The rest of the fleet raced hard and enjoyed the breeze before heading in for boat repairs and refreshment.
More wind, waves and sunshine on order along with champagne sailing.
