Laser SB3 European Championships at Riva del Garda - Day 3

by Event Organisers 24 Jun 2005 19:52 BST 22-25 June 2005

Glenn Bourke jumps into first place after nine races

The English team of Tim Peters have left the head of the rankings because of an eleventh, an eighth and an sixteenth place; he is now in fourth place in the rankings. Into first place we see the Aussie Glenn Bourke, first in all three races of today. French sailor Luc Videau has moved into second, with Colin Simonds in third.

The Italian crews had a worse day; Dario Badalamenti has dropped from 14th to 16th and Luca Bacci has slipped form 23rd into 25th.

Tomorrow, Saturday 25th, is the last day of racing. Crews go to the water at noon for the conclusion of the Laser SB3 European Championship. Glenn Bourke will probably win the Championship (19 points less than Videau). There will be a fight for the remaining podium places with Videau on 43pts, Simonds 45 and Peters (4th today) 47. There is a good chance even for 5th placed Matt Johnston (GBR 3051) scoring 48.
