EnviroPacific Services Inner Spring Regatta at Newcastle - Preview

by Richard Howard 22 Jul 2014 18:02 BST 30-31 August 2014

Bounce into Summer with the Inner Spring Regatta – IRC, ORCi & PHS

The EnviroPacific Services 2014 Inner Spring Regatta will be held on the weekend of the 30th 31st of August at Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club (NCYC).

This year's Inner Spring Regatta will mark the fourth anniversary of the event which has grown year on year and represents a great warm up for the 2014-15 summer sailing season.

Following the success of previous Inner Spring Regattas as well as the recent IRC Championships hosted by NCYC, this years edition will see the introduction of the ORCi rating system in the results table while also retaining the old faithful IRC and PHS rating systems. Run over the last weekend in August the regatta will comprise up 4 windward leeward races and a double points middle distance race of 12-15 nm dependent on wind conditions.

NCYC will be hosting a complimentary gourmet BBQ for all competitors on the Saturday night and is offering non NCYC yachts up to 10 days free marina berthing.

With a fleet of 15 to 20 yachts expected to race and a few well known 'out of towners' already entered including Wild Rose (CYCA) and Occasional Course Language One (RPAYC) the 2014 EnviroPacific Services Inner Spring Regatta is bound to be loaded with good sailing on the water and good times at the Club.

More details regarding the 2014 Inner Spring Regatta can be found at www.ncyc.net.au/sailing/regattas or by calling NCYC on 02 4940 8188.
