Noble Marine 2022 YY - LEADERBOARD

Less than three weeks to go until the Noble Marine Enterprise Nationals

by Matt Velamail 10 Jul 2014 11:17 BST 26 July - 1 August 2014

We are starting to put the finishing touches in place ready for the Nationals at Paignton. A huge thanks goes out to our sponsors for their support in running this event. We have some great prizes up for grabs from our sponsors throughout the week; Noble Marine, Allen Brothers, Kingfisher, Exe Sails & Covers, Ullman Sails, Selden and Zhik.

Daily Prizegivings:

  • Sunday Evening: Allen Brothers Fit Out Pack - A prize draw for all boats built in or before 1994.

  • Monday Evening: Kingfisher Re-Rope - Prize draw for all Silver Fleet boats

  • Tuesday Evening Mid-Week Prizegiving: Exe Sails Jib to most improved Bronze Fleet boat since Race 1

  • Wednesday Night: No prizegiving due to layday

  • Thursday Night: Ullman Cover - Prize draw for all competitors

  • Friday Night Overall Prizegiving: Ullman Jib to Leading U21 Helm and a brand new Selden boom will also be given away, but who to?

We currently have 44 Enterprises pre-entered for the event and there are more known to be coming but haven't entered yet, see list below for details.

This year we hope to be covering the whole Nationals via our up to date Twitter feed - @entassociation, our facebook group and daily YachtsandYachting.com reports so stay tuned. If you are at the event and need up to date information regarding racing, socials or protests, again, keep checking our twitter as everything will be there.

This year we also have Zhik clothing sponsoring the event. Up till now we have kept this fairly quiet. With three fleets racing it can sometimes be hard to see who is in the fleet and who you are racing against. This year we are introducing the 'Zhik Jersey'. The leaders in each fleet, each day will be wearing a buoyancy aid vest (Gold- Yellow, Silver - Blue, Bronze - Red) to make them distinguishable on the water so you know who you are trying to beat. These will be handed to you every morning before you go out on the water.

Zhik have also kindly donated prizes for our new buddy system. The fleets will be evenly split this year and each buddy team will consist of a gold, silver and bronze fleet boat. The team with the lowest cumulative score (after each boats discards) will win this.

If you are coming to the event you MUST make sure you boat is fully measured before arriving, fairleads, centreboard heights etc all need checking so that when you arrive on Saturday the measurers can easily just check and tick instead of waiting for boats to be altered to make sure they pass measurement. Remember the measurers are here to enjoy the event too so lets all have an easy Saturday and make sure were organised before we leave home. The measurement forms you will need will be published on the website and on facebook asap. Otherwise consult the Enterprise Class Rules and make sure your boat is meeting all the requirements. Random spot checks will be taking place.

This is set to be fantastic event and one not to be missed. It isn't too late to enter or book you accommodation so let's get it sorted!

The fancy dress theme has also been decided as Famous Sporting Legends!
