The South West has long heralded some of the best sailing waters in the UK. With a crescent bay framing crystal clear waters and a backdrop of the mystical St Michael's Mount what more could you want from a UK based venue for a National Championships?

On August 16th, the Larks are heading to Penzance for their National Championships sponsored by GJW Direct. The week long event will see 9 championship races, a crews race and of course the Lark Buddy system. Early bird entry is only £175 and £130 concessions but enter soon as early bird entry closes on the 13th July! Enter now via enter.sailracer.org/events/event-v2.asp?eventid=191376.

The week is set to be an exciting one with club working hard to provide a smorgasbord of sailing and entertainment. The week is great for families too. Penzance and the surrounding areas has much to offer, from Paradise Park to the Eden project and of course many amazing beaches to choose from. The week looks as follows:

  • Saturday - Commodore's reception and Ceroc dancing class
  • Sunday - Beach games/quiz and BBQ
  • Monday - Board of directors/Crews union
  • Tuesday - Penzance Town Treasure hunt and pasty and pint night
  • Wednesday - AGM and Minack Theatre to see Spamalot
  • Thursday - Fancy Dress night and local sensation 'Rudi's 'Message'
  • Friday - Black tie dinner and prize giving at Renaissance Restaurant
For those of you who are students, consider this, in entering the infamous Lark Nationals you will have the chance to win a surfboard! St Austell brewery have donated a surfboard which will go to the first student in full time education under 25. So get your entry in quick to be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize.
