On Saturday 11th, TEYC was the host for the latest round of the Topper Travellers Eastern Open Series. Despite the dubious weather conditions, the races attracted entrants from as far away as Suffolk and Buckinghamshire.

Twenty three boats in total ended up out on the water for some very close racing with places changing regularly over the three races. The light and variable winds forced the competitors to rely greatly on their tactics rather than the strength and stamina need for some of the previous races in this series.

Matt Undrell managed to hang on to the lead twice taking overall 1st place with Richard Crocker snapping at his heals with a 1st and 2nd. Third was taken by Piers Arnold closely followed by Tom Weatherhead then Richard Henderson.

All competitors commented that despite the conditions it was a great day and that they would be back to compete again next year.

Overall Results:

1st Matt Undrell 43999 (Haversham S.C.)
2nd Richard Crocker 44940 (Emberton)
3rd Piers Arnold 25164 (WOBYC)
4th Tom Weatherhead 45151 (Haversham S.C.)
5th Richard henderson 44193 (Stewartby)
