Seldén Masts are pleased to announce that Teams Seldén sailors Tim Riley and James Taylor and Sarah Norbury and Mari Davies have both qualified for the ISAF Youth Sailing Worlds later this year to be held in Portugal.

Last week at the RYA Youth Nationals held in Weymouth these two young 420 teams went to the regatta with high hopes of qualification for the Youth Worlds.

Tim and James use our latest 420 section Zeta, this section was specifically designed for the 420 and 470. It is our middle range stiffness mast ideal for sailors over 120kg. Tim and James sailed a very consistent series with only one result out of the top 7.

Sarah and Mari are using Kappa section, our lightest section available for the 420, good for smaller teams under 120kg and new teams in the class, they had a long battle with Jemima Lawson and Lily Summers using a Zeta mast for the remaining place on the Worlds team. Fellow Team Seldén sailors Robbie King and Ryan Orr also came second overall using a Zeta mast.

Our 420 masts use 6082 T6 Aluminium, CNC Plasma cut tapers insure accuracy and repeatability. Ball bearing Sheave boxes are fitted as standard, with a fully adjustable spreader bracket this makes the ultimate 420 mast.

Optional extras include, halyard locks, extendable goosenecks. To round out the 420 range, Olympus boom section has been specifically designed around the 420 rules, for the ultimate stiffness and shape. Spinnaker poles are available in 38mm and 42mm diameter with Seldéns own custom designed pole end.
