The Notice of Race is now available for Bourne End Week 2014 at Upper Thames Sailing Club. Regular visitors will know that the racing can be varied and challenging on the wide and long reach of the river Thames at Bourne End. The dates for this year's event are Saturday 24th May to Wednesday 28th May.
Class racing for Wayfarers, OKs, Merlin Rockets and RS Fevas will be held over four days alongside the Thames A Rater Nationals. There will be fast and slow handicap starts so all classes of boats are included and a variety usually enter. New this year is a Classic trophy for pre-1985, under-16ft dinghies for those boats that are not one of the above classes.
All sailors, young and old, experienced and novices, are invited to join us to enjoy the competition, and meet new friends and renew old acquaintances at this established event. The beautiful setting of the clubhouse and lawn directly on the river make racing from here very easy, especially with our newly refurbished frontage. The Thames Path runs through the grounds, and the club is only a few minutes' walk from all the facilities in the village of Bourne End. There is a full gallery of photos from last year's event on the club website here.
Camping is available just behind the clubhouse, and catering is provided throughout the week with a social programme including welcome supper, BBQ (included in entry price) and the renowned party night in the riverside marquee.
This year the regatta is pleased to receive sponsorship from Aberdeen Asset Management, Virtual Rigger and Andrew Milsom.
